Mixed Media Acrylic Painting

This course will teach you how to use mixed media to make your acrylic paintings truly special. The materials and techniques may include using terracotta on wood, medium gels and modeling pastes to create mystic textures, thread embroidery, buttons, sequins and other fancy decoratives.

 

Courses for both children and adults are available, and schedules are as follows:

Monday – Friday between 10:00am – 4:00pm

Saturday/Sunday between 1:00pm – 4:00pm by special arrangement.

 

Materials needed:

Canvasses of size 30x40 cms for children (2 each for a 8 - 10 hours course). The ten hours can be 2 hours each day for five days or one hour each day for ten days. If Adults then can be discussed personally and size of the canvas can be in accordance with their requirement and suitability. Ten hours course and two canvasses remains standard pattern. However anyone wishing to do lesser than that or just one canvas it can be tailored to suit their requirement however this is possible only in special cases where reasons are genuine. The first canvas is generally guided and second is more of independent work with minimal supervision so learning can be judged and enhanced.

 

Brushes of sizes 0,2,4,6,10 and varnish brushes, flat spatulas of different sizes, sponges of different shapes and sizes, Chinese fan brushes.

 

Amsterdam or Reeves acrylic paints.

 

Gloss Varnish, Modelling Paste, Structured Gel, Matt Varnish, Gel Medium for embossed picture effects.

 

 

 

Activity Plan

 

Introduction to the medium, with a Canvas  for each student

 

Creation of design plan as suggested or following the student's interest

 

Begin with the painting background

 

Complete the painting as per the design plan

 

Varnish the Canvas and take home

 

Start on a new design for a second canvas

 

Begin executing using mediums and acrylic paints as per design plan

 

Review and rectify

 

Final touches , varnishing and take the painting home
